Background

Tribhuvan University has launched a four-year Bachelor’s course in BA from the academic year 2076/077 under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Bachelor of Arts is an interdisciplinary course where students at Gramin Adarsha can study Compulsory English, Sociology, Major English, Social Work, and Mass Communication within the same stream.

The four-year course is of 2,000 marks (500 marks each year). Students can choose two subjects of 700 marks each as their majors and two subjects of 100 marks each as elective subjects.

Compulsory Subjects

  • English – 200 marks (1st & 3rd year)
  • Nepali – 100 marks (2nd year)
  • Nepal Studies – 100 marks

Evaluation Criteria

Students will be evaluated based on a written examination (70 marks) and internal assessment (30 marks). Internal evaluation includes:

  • Mini Projects
  • Classroom Presentations
  • Teamwork Activities

Eligibility

To be eligible for admission in BA, students must have:

  • At least D+ in all subjects in Grade 11 and Grade 12, OR
  • Completed Intermediate / Proficiency Certificate / 10+2 level in Humanities, Science, or Management stream from TU or any board recognized by TU.
